Regional Development Australia ACT (RDA ACT) is in its infancy, having been officially incorporated on 28 September 2009 - the culmination of a long process of transition from the Capital Region Area Consultative Committee. RDA ACT has a significantly more strategic scope of operations than its predecessor .
RDA ACT is part of the national network of 55 Regional Development Australia Committees; it has been formed as a joint initiative between the commonwealth and ACT governments and is funded by both. It works on a regional level and aims to enhance the future of the ACT city-state as an integral part of the broader region - the surrounding Capital Region.
